Why do we like this?
In anticipation of their upcoming album Marigolden, Field Report surprises us with this perfectly cheery track just in time for the transition from summer to fall.
The Milkwaukee-based band starts off “Home” with an upbeat intro and inviting vocals that basically feel like they’re hugging you. They perfectly mix folk and pop while singing about an incredibly heavy subject matter. The contrasts in the track make this a homerunner, and you’ll be playing this on repeat long after the song has ended.
Although it’s odd to see Field Report doing such a cheery number, it’s refreshing to see a progression in the band’s sound. Marigolden is set to be released October 7 on Partisan. Until then, bless your ears with this.
