Prepare to feel weightless.
Antwerp artist Few Bits emerged in 2013 with their self-titled album, captivating European audiences with their dreamy take on surf-rock infused dream-pop. They made their US debut this year at SXSW, and they're back to mesmerize with their shimmering new single "Summer Sun."
Just as the title suggests, the track evokes sunshine gleaming off the ocean, palm trees swaying in a calm breeze, and the gentle ease of summertime. Vocalist Karolien Van Ransbeek coos softly atop woozy, ringing guitars to create a full, engrossing sonic atmosphere.
Though tranquil, the lyrics are deeply emotive. They touch on escapism, relinquishing desire for something unattainable, and finding solace in the simple beauty of life.
Few Bits's sophomore album Big Sparks will be available later this year. Keep up with the artist here.
