Why do we like this?

Newest release from Fern Murphy is their EP,Gringo Love, which includes this beautiful shoegaze track. This fresh, Indianapolis-based trio came to life in January of 2018. Most of their inspiration comes from dream pop and shoegaze.

When I listen to this song, I feel a dream-like summer trance. It brings me back to when I first started getting into indie music, starting with Wild Nothing and Beach Fossils. Lush vocal layering and simple, nostalgic guitar riffs that echo over each other. Music like this is sentimental to me; my guilty pleasure.

Pulled from Fern Murphy's Spotify bio:

These unique characteristics have resulted in a style of songwriting that copes with the mundaneness of life by romanticizing the exotic beauty of the unknown.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Enjoy!
