It could be because I've consumed an inordinate amount of coffee, but I can't help but dance to this. The beat itself is too groovy to resist.
The soulful Father Dude teams up with rapper Joell Ortiz on "Why I Can't Relate," an energetic R&B jam entrenched in pop with a dash of hip hop. Ortiz offers swift rhymes rife with puns atop Father Dude's silky falsetto and Konrad OldMoney's smooth production.
His verse is short and sharp, referencing Pharrell's choice in headwear and Snapchat. He also takes a shot at music bloggers...but I'll let that slide this time.
Whether or not be "fucks with my website" I fuck with this song. With deep, hammering synths and an infectious melody, it's well suited for radio play and coffeeshop dancing alike.
