Father John Misty has never been one to shy away from commenting on the world around us, often highlighting issues with his iconic lyrics and enchanting delivery. "Pure Comedy" is exactly that. Six and a half minutes of Misty reflecting on the current state of the world as he delves in religion, politics and other issues plaguing society.
Misty croons over a somber piano for the first verse with light instrumentation filling the silence before fading out at the songs end as Misty states, "I hate to say it, but each other's all we got."
A film clip accompanying the song created by Matthew Daniel Siskin mixes animated footage with clips of Donald Trump, Kanye West, John Cena and Pepe the frog.
There's no word if this is an official single from Misty's upcoming album, but either way it's another wonderful song from the American songwriter.
