Far Caspian can do no wrong. "Astoria" is their third and latest release of this year. It opens with optimistic guitar patterns matched with breezy vocals, creating a summer daydream. However, the melancholic lyrics express a spirit of raw vulnerability that makes you feel connected to lead singer, Joel Johnston.
Far Caspian tends to produce moderately lo-fi music that is aesthetically pleasing but not an overbearing attempt to sound hip, which is my favorite type of indie. In addition, they create music about love that doesn't feel contrived and phony. In my opinion, that's a big feat y'all.
Thankfully, we can expect an EP,The Heights, this summer AND they will be releasing tour dates. If they come to Seattle then you can definitely catch me there. Finna crowd surf.
