Why do we like this?

Are you familiar with The Dodos? If so, Fan will probably sound quite familiar to you. That's because it's the new solo project of one-half of the band: Meric Long.

Normally I'd write something long-winded about the background of this song (just kidding, I rarely do that), but because Polyvinyl summed it up pretty well, I figure it's best to just quote them:

Conceived upon hearing an irreproducible pattern made from the sound of a broken fan in a restaurant bathroom, FAN's music is pulled together from recordings Long made in Galicia, Spain, using two synths left behind after his father's passing.

Does it sound like a fan? I dunno. To me it just sounds good.
