Why do we like this?
Stick Insects and Butterflies
Ezéchiel Pailhès gives me pomp and circumstance with "Ni Toi, Ni Moi" and I adore it for every single second.
Have you ever looked at a stick insect? (If you can find one) How do they move? The ups and downs of their life - "Ni Toi, Ni Moi" is an insect of its own design, a twitchy and yet slow-moving caterpillar on the leaf of french pop, eating it here and taking a bite there. This track evolves into a butterfly of very specific colors, slow flapping wings, and planned movements. It goes from ear to ear pollinating your mind with the best synths you've heard in a while.
Or is this track still just a stick insect hidden in a forest of electro easily lost, but immeasurably rewarding to find?
