So, it seems Sweden + pop music = pure gold. Amirite?
While I've chosen to feature Oliver Nelson's rework of Everywhere's track "Eddie," (both hailing from that beautiful European bastion of electronica), I would like to at least link to the original, which represents a promising start for the albeit problematically named pop outfit.
Nelson's rework, however, renders the song much more accessible by coating it with an oozy layer of xylophonic dream pop. I find it's also always worth it to glimpse at SoundCloud's tags (which range from hilariously inspiring to "Wait, that's a tag for music?") Here, they cite "new wave" and "disco" as categories -- not sure I totally agree; this feels like dreamy nu-disco territory to me!
Not claiming this song will have staying power, but it's fun for summer and a superb driving track. You'd have to hop a flight to dig up more Swedish gems, but I say go for it -- there's undoubtedly more to be found.
