Why do we like this?
Sydney's Evan & the Brave have been kicking around for a couple of years now, but only put the finishing touches on their debut EP Island this year. Having already supported an array of Australian talent (Hungry Kids of Hungary, The Trouble with Templeton), the quartet -- who just added Ross James of Lanterns fame to their line-up -- is ready to carve out their own niche.
The EP's current single is the gorgeous "Stay This Way," a perfect example of how to do dream-pop right. Reverbed vocals, guitar, and keys are fused effortlessly together, creating an icy, but still colorful wall of sound. It's currently providing me with the perfect soundtrack to staring aimlessly out my window at work, wishing I was somewhere else.
Evan & the Brave's EP Island can be streamed in full here. Join them for a daydream or two.
