Why do we like this?

We don't post a lot of folk these days, but New York-based Evan Crommett managed to woo me over with his latest single "Boys & Girls in Hell's Kitchen."

The song couples intricate acoustic guitar work with beautifully layered vocals. Hannah Adele Bailey sets the tone through the second half by laying a haunting vocal melody for Evan to sing over.

The crescendo culminates in an isolated and stark interlude by Evan as he muses about the hookup culture of NYC and (presumably) his place therein.

The end result is filled with passion and conviction, a formula that pulled me right in.
