Why do we like this?
Au Revoir Simone was one of my favorite female groups in college; they were my first introduction to electro/dream pop. So you can imagine how excited I am that one of the band's lead vocalists, Erika Spring, is coming out with a solo project.
She just released a new split 7" digitally, which you can find on Friendly Fire. If you're into vinyl, it's coming out on August 2.
Her single, "6 More Weeks," brings me back to the reasons why I loved Au Revoir Simone for so long: the breathy vocals, light synthpop beats, and a somewhat haunting, melancholic melody. Doesn't hurt that she's a gorgeous blonde, either.
