Why do we like this?

Off the back of a new album announcement earlier in the week, Empire of the Sun has now dropped two new tracks in as many days. 

"Two Vines" (the second track released, and the titular single from their upcoming album) shows more promise than the lackluster "High and Low," its wheeling synth lines and almost-anthemic chorus will certainly get your head swaying. 

But you get the impression that this is the sound of a band unable to break from a tried-and-tested formula. Here's hoping the new album unleashes some gems closer to surpass the excellent "Walking on a Dream."
