Why do we like this?

Axmod breathes new life into Emmanuel Jal's "Baai." With this remix, Axmod shows that he really knows how to take a track that is outstanding in its own right and transform it into his own. 

The original track, a plea for peace, (the song title means "my home" in the Dinka language) is nothing short of an anthem. It was released way back in 2005, but it's still worth a listen. 

Jal is a former South Sudanese child soldier-turned-musician and uses his art as social and political activism. "Music is powerful," Jal once said. "It is the only thing that can speak into your mind, your heart and your soul without your permission."
