This 20-year-old Halifax artist sings about reclaiming power after heartbreak and growing from the experience. At first, the vocals absolutely captivate — a smooth, low growl making for a distinct performance. Then lyrics come alive and dance ablaze in imagination, and yet, are drawn from a place that was very real for Ellur. The crescendo drips with emotion and is accompanied by goose flesh, reminding me of M83.
All in all, "Moments" knocks it out of the park for me and I'm excited to give the EP a full listen. It is said to be a bold and honest exploration into human relationships, and if Ellur's gorgeous voice weaves its way across each track, it might just be a homerun. TheMoments EP will be released on Dance To The Radio throughout August – December 2021.
