On a scale from 1 to 10, I was expecting this remix to be a flat out zero. I'm not entirely sure why I passed that judgment so quickly -- no offense was intended toward Mat Zo. It's just that Ellie has been uploading official remixes of her songs for some time now, and the majority of them are let downs.
Indeed, after the first 5 seconds of this track I expected the worst. But I kept listening, and boy am I glad that I did! Over the course of nearly 7 minutes, Mat Zo shares twists and turns, build-ups and tear-downs, harmonies and straight up thumping; the result is a pretty great club banger, with my favorite part probably around the 3.45 mark (that drum beat sounds a bit like Blur's "Song No. 2").
I haven't actually posted a house banger like this in quite some time, so in a sense it's quite refreshing to do so. Hopefully you enjoy!
