Why do we like this?
Maya Jane Coles never ceases to amaze, and she's got me stunned all over again with her latest release, a remix of Ella Fitzgerald's "Blue Skies."
This track hits me in much the same way as Francis Harris' "Lost Found (Black Light Smoke Remix)" does, in that the moody blues vocal becomes a perfect compliment to the melancholy, sub-marine sounds of deep house. Ella Fitzgerald may have never sounded so sexy, and I can't wait to hear this piercing the air on a chill starry night of slow swinging house.
"Blue Skies" is part of the Verve Remixed: The First Ladies compilation and can be purchased via iTunes.
