Why do we like this?

Melbourne's elkkle forges new territory with his experimental approach to the trappings of electronic music on his new track "Soft Erasure."

Channeling the moody, introvert stylings of artists like James Blake, Panda Bear, and to a certain extent Joy Division, elkkle devises a rich, eclectic sound which counterbalances the current trends in dance music. Sprawling and full of life, "Soft Erasure" captures a melancholic, neon-goth aesthetic largely lost in dance music today. Crooning vocals overlaid with blossoming synths and idyllic pads glue the track together with haunting finesse -- elements which drive the track's yearning for understanding to the forefront.

We need more music like this today.
