Why do we like this?

So, I've been missing me some Feist. It's been, what, three years since her last release?

Enter Elizabeth & The Catapult, a NYC band I stumbled upon at the Rockwood Music Hall when I was there shooting a music video.

If this track had come up on a playlist and you'd told me it was new Feist, I would've believed you. To my ears (though it may just be a new band crush developing) this track is as good than anything the Canadian songstress has released, even though more than a few cues and techniques feel borrowed. (Which is totally okay with me. More people need to start trying to be like Feist.)

The band certainly has a lot to offer on their own, which can be more fully perused on their SoundCloud, which features their entire recently released record Like It Never Happened.

I'm guessing you're gonna wanna check it out.
