Music always follows moods pretty specifically, and Melbourne musician Eliza Hull has always been a go-to when that introspective feeling hits me. When you throw in the significant talents of fellow Melbourne-based artists Texture Like Sun and Hayden Calnin, you can guarantee a pretty powerful result.
That's exactly what we have here with Hull's brand new single "Used To," the second track from her upcoming album, The Bones of Us. With Calnin on production duties on the record, Hull and Texture Like Sun's vocals hover in and out of a fantastical soundscape that will have you drifting off into daydream land in next to no time. It's delicate, stirring, and just really gorgeous. While I really dislike the overuse of the word ethereal in music writing, this is pretty much the definition.
Expect plenty more music to come in 2015 from Eliza Hull, with The Bones of Us due out early in the year.
