Why do we like this?
Only a couple of days back, I reviewed the new single from Melbourne artist Hayden Calnin, and today I have another project he's been working on alongside Melbourne artist Eliza Hull. The multi-talented Calnin produced the majority of the equally brilliant singer/songwriter's recent EP, The Ghosts You Never Catch, which was released at the end of last year.
The EP's first single "Echoes" appeared on an episode of the US TV show Awkward, and was followed up by a second, "Christopher," when the EP dropped. It's a stirring piece of music that builds perfectly while retaining an incredibly dreamy tone that sinks in from the start. Hull's hymn-like vocals are well-suited to this type of music -- you won't be able to stop being drawn into the beautiful musical landscape that's been created.
If you enjoyed this track as much as I did, you'll be pleased to know that you can enjoy the EP in its entirety on Eliza's SoundCloud. This is definitely a record that deserves your time.
