Why do we like this?
After featuring their single "Mother Said" over a year ago, Melbourne band Elephant Eyes hit a bit of a snag with illness and line-up changes slowing their progress. Now that the team is back on deck, they're ready to pick up where they left-off, with the release of their debut EP just a matter of weeks away.
Before doing so, they're giving us a sample of what to expect with the fresh new single "India." What I love about this track is how steadily it grows, initially focusing on the radiant tones of vocalist Kate McMahon before opening up along the way. The simple but glittering guitar strums develop into a gorgeous breakdown toward the song's end. The overall sound on this track is fuller than what I've heard from them before, which bodes well for the EP release.
If you like dreamy, uncomplicated pop music, then Elephant Eyes is definitely for you. I'm thankful they're back to what they do best.
