I'm a couple of days late on this one, but this new single by Nashville indie poppers ELEL needs to be heard by the masses. "40 Watt" is the first single off their upcoming debut album, Geode, and if it was hype that the octet was after, they might have just hit the jackpot with this one. Definitely a lightbulb moment, if I do say so myself.
I'm not entirely sure what it is about this single that I like so much. It might be the steel drums, or it could possibly be the hypnotically layered vocals. All I know is that this is the sort of music that you want to tell people about. It's definitely not something you come across every day; it strikes up a nice balance between pop, rock, and even some psychedelic elements.
Pretty excited to see what these guys come up with next!
