Why do we like this?
Editors' evolution continues on new single "Life Is A Fear." Beginning as a Joy Division-inspired post-punk outfit before turing into a U2 knockoff, Editors now resemble an indie-synth hybrid, with "Life Is A Fear" one of their most clashing releases yet.
As electronic percussion kicks things off, you're then hit by heavy, stylized synths, before Tom Smith's recognizable vocals soar over the polished production.
I don't hate it, but I'm not sure I like it either. It took me a few listens to warm to their last album, with none of the singles really impressing, so I hope the same goes for this one.
In Dream is released October 10.
