Why do we like this?
UK DJ Timothy J Fairplay's remix of Editors' "Honesty" is more of a reinvention than a slight mixup. Fairplay turns what was a melodic stadium number and turns it into a dark, threatening creeper that could easily be the soundtrack for an 80s horror flick.
Editors frontman Tom Smith's vocals are distorted and kinda scary over the heavy synth production that recalls horror master John Carpenter's iconic scores. What's even more surprising is Editors personally picked this remix to share with their fans.
It might not be to everyones taste, but certainly shows the band aren't afraid to showcase their music in different ways.
