Why do we like this?
Despite their fourth album The Weight Of Your Love falling short of my expectations, English act Editors still hold place in my heart. Second single "Formaldehyde" is one of the album's better tracks that marks the reinvention of the band. Produced byJacquire King, the man who helped Kings Of Leon win a Grammy for "Use Somebody," the track has a greater commercial edge, and you can imagine Editor's playing "Formaldehyde" in front of huge crowds at festivals worldwide.
While I prefer their darker, earlier work, the melodic bass line and expansive chorus on "Formaldehyde" are quite refreshing, with the undercurrent of synths bringing things home. A solid track that should keep old fans satisfied while drawing new fans.
