I think in a world where there's a lot of homogenization of music (everyone's copying everyone else, and there's a lot of the same stuff at the top of the charts), people don't give new songs much time to breathe.
Despite being British, Ed Thomas is not exemplifying the typical British dance or R&B offering. He's being rather soulful with a dashing of Cali-soul vibes, and it sounds pretty sexy.
There's elements of this track that sound comparable to Justin Timberlake, Usher, Ed Sheeran... and then there's the cool production, which sounds like it could be from a number of people from the chart toppers to the coolest SoundCloud DJs.
For someone who's been writing for the likes of Sigma, JORJA, and Maverick Sabre, Thomas has really found his own sound -- and it's shining bright in my ears.
