Why do we like this?

It's hard to hear this song and not feel like you've lost all control of your limbs. Imagine hearing this outdoors on a summer evening, just before sunset. There's a dance floor, fairy lights strewn in the airy landscape above your dancing body, and an endless number of bodies surrounding you in every direction you look. And where there aren't bodies, there is water and the skyline of a majestic city unlike any other. That city is New York.

This is the scene in which I imagine this song playing, one that I know for a fact actually happened at one point in time, an outdoor dance party that happens in the summer called Mister Sunday. I discovered the song on a playlist of closers that the two DJs of Mister Sunday recently put together. I don't think they realize how much of an impact this playlist had on my week, because I had only previously been discussing this very theme for a playlist with a friend of mine.

For anyone who has never had the pleasure of experiencing Mister Sunday, the parties happen on Sundays in the warmer months of the New York City's summer (and all over the world, as of recently) and last from the late afternoon to the beginning of the evening. They play a selection and range of songs from cumbia to house to oldies, but the most anticipated moment of the evening is the closing song. Justin and Eamon make sure to pick something that is in line with the spirits of the crowd, however, it almost always feels unexpected and euphoric.

Such is the feeling of this song. I hope you listen to it enough times where you know the words (albeit, simple to follow along) and can sing along as you walk down the freezing streets of New York, like I did last week.
