Toronto singer/songwriter DYLYN's third release of 2017 is the frenetic pop explosion "American Nightmare."
"American Nightmare" follows the path of her previous singles, pairing electronic sounds with a punk aesthetic. Over a blistering guitar riff incorporating electronic production, DYLYN claims she's "free and I don't care" as she embraces her own way of life, even if it's not what people expect. DYLYN expands on this more below:
"My generation is much more in tune with our emotions and who we are than past generations. Some choose to take a traditional path in life, settle down, get married and have kids, which is cool. But I always felt as though life was sketched out a little different for me. The 'American Dream' isn't the same as it used to be. There is no age limit, gender, or rules that apply to what we have to do in life. 'American Nightmare' is about setting your own path and playing by your own rules. I don't know what the future holds for me, but for now I'm still figuring out who I am and exploring this crazy path I'm on."
All three of DYLYN's singles have been well received, and if you are digging this one, be sure to check her other releases here.
