While most of the music I discover is through countless hours spent shifting through various music sites, blogs and the ever reliable SoundCloud, every now and then a friend will recommend something that sticks, as is the case with Dylan Hill.
Hailing from Melbourne, Hill is a singer/songwriter/producer plying his trade in hypnotic and ambient electronica, a style of music that is all the rage these days. Very similar to the likes of James Blake and How To Dress Well, there's a feeling of honesty with Hill's production, a real emotional pull that sucks you in. Ultra chill with calming synths and the aching refrain of "Fall down with me," I instantly fell in love with "The Fall" and have had it on repeat all morning. Nice one Alana.
