Why do we like this?
Following up on successful remixes of Diana Ross and Talking Heads, Swedish duo Drop Out Orchestra have put a fun disco spin on the Duran Duran classic "Girls On Film."
The original song was released way back in 1981, before the vast majority of Indie Shuffle's readers were born (myself included). Interestingly enough, the single was one of the first to really boost Duran Duran's career, becoming a Top 10 breakthrough in the UK Singles Chart.
According to Wikipedia (a trusted source), Duran Duran found the song's success to be particularly gratifying as they had personally selected it. Oh, and the reason? Because their label had insisted on picking the last single, which completely flopped. Take that, EMI!
