The French electronic duo Duñe x Crayon has returned with their first release since their self-titled EP from 2016, and the result is an understated, soulful single entitled “Hundred Fifty Roses.” The new track is out on the Parisian label "Roche Musique" and is the first offering from the duo’s forthcoming debut album, which is set for release in early 2020.
“Hundred Fifty Roses” is a song of self-reflection as Duñe’s gentle lyrics grapple with one’s desire for true companionship. Crayon’s production in turn provides a fitting sonic backdrop that taps into the tenderness of the subject matter as well as the emotional urgency of the narrator. The vocals and synth pads drift through the mix in contrast to the crackling drum beat and occasional fierce synth rip.
“Hundred Fifty Roses” soothes as it grooves, providing an appetizing preview of Duñe x Crayon’s upcoming LP.
