Let's take a moment to get serious. If you're not currently listening to the Future Stars of 2013 Essential Mixes, please stop reading this and rectify that immediately. Thus far, we've listened to Perseus and Jonas Rathsman, two brilliant house/nu disco producers from the cooler than cool label French Express, Duke Dumont (featured here), and this week's spotlight, George Fitzgerald.
Although we've covered a remix of Sir Duke's, it's high time Indie Shuffle took note of his original productions as they are just. Fucking. Awesome. "The Giver" was on pretty much every (quality) dance floor I stepped onto last year, and if you're listening to the track right now, you'll intrinsically know why.
Sick beat changes, slightly glitchy vocal samples, and a penetrating drum line gives me a brilliant heart attack. These elements all come together with grabbing lyrics, creating the kind of sound that makes you want to double check that every last atom on the planet is dancing. No prisoners, baby.
