Why do we like this?
Ducky, aka Morgan Neiman, is a New York-based artist with a serious perspective on music. Rolling Stone featured "Two Over Ten" track last month with a free download, but it seems that this gem has not been picked up much by the blogosphere yet.
Working a groove into some extremely diffused notes, "Two Over Ten" tune is smoky and disparate. The lyrics wonderfully drip from Neiman's lips, the sort of words that require more than one examination: "so take me to your house / and kiss me in the dark / pull me by my shaking arms / you're gonna make it hurt and that's ok / oh I like to feel afraid."
Playing with a multitude of different sounds, this lady pulls off an incredibly experimental yet slightly dancey track, each note seemingly held together by the thinnest membrane.
