Why do we like this?
Even though this song was released in the dead of winter, I can't help but relate it to the sweet sweat of summer.
Did I mention that this was Du Tonc's first single? It completely blew my mind (understandably so, since Du Tonc is comprised of Matt Van Schie, from Van She, and Mighty Mouse). There's a whole lot of layers to this track; the percussion features incredibly danceable and consistent beats, the synths envelop the song in all their breezy beauty, the funky bass and electric guitar add a touch of retro sound, and the pseudo-robotic vocals takes us back to the 80s. This is a nu disco pop gem if I've ever heard one!
Du Tonc is still brand new with only three amazing releases under their belt. I can't wait for a full length to grace us!
