Why do we like this?
For those of you who are familiar with the London-based techno producer Max Cooper, be prepared to adjust expectations with his newest remix. Taking a pass at D/R/U/G/S' new single "The Source of Light," Cooper gives listeners a very different side to ponder.
Max is one of my favorite producers. His music is intelligent, experimental and always above par. This remix certainly follows suit, just in a alternate tone than his typical gloom and intensity. With an outrageously long build up, Cooper plays up the sinfully euphoric aspects of the original, tempering the dance side D/R/U/G/S brought to the party. In the most literal sense, this tune is just beautiful.
