DreamVacation has just released the video for "Press Play," the eerie single off their self-titled EP. The four-piece has a successful history, supporting artists like The Airborne Toxic Event and have had their music featured on TV spots such as Shameless.
DreamVacation's metamorphic sound blends atmospheric elements à la Radiohead with reverberant, yearning guitars akin to Explosions In The Sky. Vocalist Ray Silva adds an additional emotive layer atop the swelling instruments with his wavering vocals.
This intoxicating EP is a culmination of the band's personal experiences manifested in writing. Written and produced in L.A., it aims to capture the disparate facets of existence; the affluence and the desperation of the city, the hope and despair of life. Ultimately, there's an uplifting message:
“We hope to inspire people to think and see things differently than they normally do. And maybe even remember things they thought they forgot. To feel more connected and sense that there is more kindness available than it seems.”
