Why do we like this?

Pigeons & Planes recently compared 19-year-old Dre Kiken's latest release, "Always," to that of The Weeknd's early work, and it's easy to hear why.

Co-produced with Trwubblenaut, "Always" features a hazy beat that's raw and uncompromising, and Kiken's introspective lyrical content helps create an air of authenticity to the tune.

The track's gloomy yet seductive feel finds Kiken crooning about girl troubles and being homeless, and while he sounds nothing like The Weeknd, the overall feel of the track has a House Of Balloons vibe going on.
