Drake's gone and dropped another track, but unlike the last few, this is the "official first single" from Toronto's own much-anticipated September release,
Nothing Was The Same. Unlike the previous three tunes he's previewed, "Hold On, We're Going Home," is a slight change of pace for the former
Degrassi actor.
While lyrically it's typical Drake, crooning about falling in love and getting all emotional like he does, it's the smooth 80s beat that feels like you've stepped onto the set of
Miami Vice. This is straight up R&B, with Drake abandoning his rap tendencies for soulful vocals over Nineteen85's baby making beat. Fellow Toronto native Majid Jordan also lends his vocals to the track, adding another layer of sexuality to this ballin' tune.
