Why do we like this?
My boy Drake has made me very happy today, dropping four new tracks to celebrate the launch of his new website OVOSOUND. Along with the new tracks, the website reveals the release date of his forthcoming album Nothing Was The Same, September 17. Mark it in your calendar people.
I'm a huge mark for Drake, so I might be a little biased when I say "The Motion" is one of the best songs I've heard this year. Big call, but this is vintage Drake, with the Canadian rapping about the trials and tribulations of being a music superstar with his typical emotional pull.
While most don't consider him a rapper per say, Drake's flow is tight on "The Motion," simmering over the 80's synths, while the additional vocals of Sampha (multi-talented producer, instrumentalist and SBTRKT vocalist) illuminates the pair's alluring harmonies. Aubrey Graham, you've done it again.
