Soulection is a really, really, really awesome label based out of L.A. With a roster filled with artists centered around downtempo, emotive electronic / hip-hop and R&B hybrid tunes, this label's music could easily make a grown man cry.
Sango and Atu, two of the label's artists, remixed "From Time" from Drake's 2013 album Nothing Was The Same. Although definitely not the breakout track like "Started From the Bottom," it's one of the best on the album.
This remix plays on the introspective nature of the original, fixating on the chorus and leaving Drake's vocals out of the picture almost completely (minus some well placed "uhs"). A slow, diffused start plays up Aiko's stunning vocals amidst a fog of muted piano and wandering melody. It comes together close to the three-minute mark, percussion casually floating in to tie all of the soulful elements together.
