Why do we like this?
New material from one of our favorite record labels out there, Erased Tapes. They're introducing us to a young London-based artist named Douglas Dare, a fresh singer/songwriter whose poetic piano playing remind us of Perfume Genius. He fits right in with the crew that reps Nils Frahm and Olafur Arnalds.
I've been really lucky to get a sneak peak at his upcoming work and I'm particularly digging this track, "Scars." It reminds me a bit of The Cinematic Orchestra, with a haunting voice against that'll tug the heart of any nostalgic who's been in love.
Not much online material for Douglas quite yet, but his first EP, Seven Hours, will be released on September 30. Until then, he's got a few shows coming up, so check out the dates on Erased Tapes' website if you're around Europe.
