Sometimes there are songs that connect with me the very first time I listen to them. Which is somewhat ironic in this case, because it was released by an act called "Don't Connect." Clearly there's a disconnect there :)
"Dead Ideas" is a pretty experimental indie rock song. The approach reminds me a lot of Metronomy and Andrew Applepie, though it's certainly got a flair all its own (credit of course to Flyboy Jetty).
For those of you super in the know, I actually picked up a song by Don't Connect a little over a year ago called "5." That one was a little more lowkey than this one, though the similarities are definitely there. If I had to choose, I'd probably say I prefer this one.
