As writers and listeners, I think we all love discovering and supporting an artist from our own city.
Such is the case with San Francisco-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Maryam Qudus, aka DOE EYE. She is currently gearing up to release her debut full-length album titled T E L E V I S I O N, which was produced by John Vanderslice (Spoon, St. Vincent, The Mountain Goats, Nada Surf). DOE EYE has also received coverage by the likes of FUSE TV, Alternative Press, and Billboard.
Premiering here on Indie Shuffle, "Diamond" is the latest track from DOE EYE's forthcoming album. It lurks with dark emotion while glistening with an intense arrangement. The track is filled with an erie electro bass line, scratching vocals, and a shimmery melody that sets the proper tone for DOE EYE's debut album.
T E L E V I S I O N is set for release on April 29, 2014. Follow DOE EYE on Facebook, Twitter, and SoundCloud for old and future jams -- and catch their tour schedule here.
