Why do we like this?
I nearly ended 2013 without listening to DJ Rashad's Double Cup, and if that would have happened, I would have been very disappointed in myself.
The Chicago footwork/juke champ, along with his TekLife crew, has been dropping gems on Kode 9's Hyberdub label for a minute now. Still, it was last year's Double Cup that pushed Rashad and his brand of hood electronic dance music to a new plateau.
A spirited reminder that Skrillex and the rest of radio do not encompass the whole of dance music, Double Cup is soulful with a very distinguishable personality. Check out "Every Day Of My Life" and take a sip of what the Chi is on.
