Toronto indie sweethearts, Dilly Dally, are back with a new track, "I Feel Free," off of their upcoming sophomore release Heaven.
"I Feel Free" marks the return of the band after their near-breakup during the touring cycle for the much-acclaimed debut, Sore. The song is about the band putting the past behind them to achieve their dreams. Aptly, the video shows singer Katie Monks diggings her guitar and her bandmates out of their graves in an attempt to revive the group.
Distortion pedals on max, the track highlights the dirty grunge atmosphere of their previous efforts, while adding more polish and maturity to the mix. Monk’s vocals, described by their label as, "one of the most powerful instruments in all of rock music," are front and centre, right where they should be. Her throaty wail, the raging guitars, and the graveyard imagery mark an exciting return for Dilly Dally.
Heaven is out on September 14 on Dine Alone Records.
