Different Marks Can't Figure Me Out

Dirtybird regulars Catz 'N Dogz teamed up with longtime collaborator Martin Dawson for this new side project called Different Marks, with releases on their very own imprint, Pets Recordings. Their untitled debut was released for free and features this downtempo gem, which offers a more subdued approach to the usual bass-heavy, booty-bouncing tracks that make up the Dirtybird signature sound. Ben Westbeech contributed his crooning vocals to their R&B-influenced record, rounding out the sound with a dark yet optimistic tone.

If you haven't heard of Ben yet, catch up, and fast! He's having a breakout year, both as an in-demand vocalist and masterful producer under his alias Breach. He'll be taking over the airwaves for most of the summer with every respectable DJ, starting or ending their set with his recently released dance anthem "Jack."  If you're feeling this melodic and enrapturing single, make sure to get the rest of the album (for free). It's particularly special since it was the last project Dawson worked on before his untimely passing. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
