Why do we like this?

Cape Town-based Diamond Thug have a really unique female vocalist. I won't say her voice is the sole reason this band captivates me -- but it's something I've heard referenced to as both an asset and a downfall.

Fortunately the band seem to be proving to critics that it falls on the former side, and I think "Sapphire" is a clear indicator of that. Its uptempo and wonderfully layered instrumentals perfectly frame the characteristic vocal delivery in a way that's certain to draw in fans both locally and abroad. I'd certainly put myself in that "fan camp."
