Why do we like this?

Yowzer, this one's dark. And therein lies a lot of its allure, methinks.

deryk's "Call You Out" had me listening closely from the word "go" (the music videoprobably helped with that). If you were to ask me to draw an easy comparison I'd reference Billie Eilish, though given that deryk's now based in New Zealand, a comparison to Lorde ain't far off the mark.

This happens to be the only song released by the UMG-backed artist so far. Hopefully that means there's some more high-quality stuff lined up.
