Why do we like this?
Grizzly Bear, is that you? Acting as a talented constant in both musical entities, vocalist Daniel Rossen is one half of the duo that comprises Department of Eagles. Rossen and his partner in crime, Fred Nicolaus, are based out of Brooklyn, NY. They produce an acoustic-infused product that blurs the line between experimental and indie rock.
Inspired by Grizzly Bear, CANT, Dirty Projectors, Fleet Foxes, Inlets and Randy Newman, "Phantom Other" by Department of Eagles captures the explicit nature of harmony and developmental layering. Off of their album titled In Ear Park, the two New Yorkers exude listening pleasure.
A few days ago we featured Daniel Rossen's very own "Not Coming Back" as an Indie Shuffle Song of the Day. To give you all a taste of every musical venture Rossen is affiliated with, we now give you Department of Eagles' "Phantom Other."
